The Orlando Magic travel to the Moda Center to take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night.

The Orlando Magic will be looking to stay undefeated after they blew past the lowly Rockets in a 116-86 home win on Wednesday. Cole Anthony led the team with 20 points on eight of 12 shooting off the bench, Franz Wagner added 19 points while Paolo Banchero chipped in with 12 points, five rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Magic shot 48 percent from the field and nine of 34 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Rockets from the start, holding the Rockets to just 20 points in the first quarter to open a double-digit lead that only grew as the game went on.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers will be hoping for a better showing after getting routed by the Clippers in a 123-111 road loss in their season opener. The newly acquired Malcolm Brogdon led the way with 20 points and five assists off the bench, Anfernee Simons added 18 points while Jerami Grant chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 47 percent from the field and 10 of 32 from the 3-point line as they struggled to score right from the start and were always fighting a losing battle after falling behind by 67-47 going into halftime.

It’s early in the season, but it’s fair to say that the Magic are a team on the rise, while the Trail Blazers will likely be at the bottom of the standings once again. The Magic looked impressive in their dominant win over the Rockets and it’s hard to imagine anything but a similar result if the Magic are allowed to get off to another quick start. The Trail Blazers struggled to find their feet with their new lineup and I think they’ll continue to struggle in this one against a Magic outfit at full strength.
