The San Antonio Spurs and the Portland Trail Blazers duke it out at the Moda Center on Wednesday night.

The San Antonio Spurs have been in a rut as they’ve lost eight of their last 12 games overall, but they will be looking to stay hot after outlasting the Warriors in a 110-108 road win on Sunday. Josh Richardson led the team with 25 points off the bench, Dejounte Murray tallied 19 points with six rebounds and eight assists while Keldon Johnson chipped in with 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Spurs shot just 38 percent from the field and 15 of 40 from the 3-point line set the tone with 36 points in the first quarter to build an early 14-point lead, but they squandered it and had to scrap their way to a win thanks to Johnson who made the game-winning shot off a missed free throw from Jakob Poeltl with just 0.3 seconds remaining.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in a real slump as they’ve lost 10 of their last 12 games overall, but they will be hoping to stay hot after arresting a four-game slide with a 119-115 road win over the Pistons on Monday. Brandon Williams led the team with 23 points, Ben McLemore added 21 points off the bench while Drew Eubanks chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot just 42 percent from the field and eight of 28 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Pistons right from the start to lead by as many as 23 points which proved to be just enough in the end as the Pistons rallied in the fourth quarter.

Looking at the betting trends, the Spurs are 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Trail Blazers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.

Head to head, the over is 18-7 in the last 25 meetings overall and the Spurs are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.

The Spurs were really struggling for a while there, but they are coming into this game with plenty of confidence after taking down the Warriors in a thrilling 110-108 road win on Sunday and you could say the same about the Trail Blazers were ice-cold before they beat the Pistons. The Spurs have opened as heavy road favorites here as the Trail Blazers have just been getting blown out on a nightly basis lately and the Spurs have already beaten the Trail Blazers by 114-83 earlier this season. This one might be a little closer, but I’m expecting a similar result as the Spurs get the win and cover here.
