The Sacramento Kings play host to the Houston Rockets at the Golden 1 Center on Thursday night.

The Houston Rockets have been in a serious slump as they are currently riding a 13-game skid after getting routed by the Nets in a 132-114 home loss last Wednesday. John Wall led the team with 36 points and five assists, Victor Oladipo added 33 points and five assists while Jae’Sean Tate chipped in with 12 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Rockets shot just 41 percent from the field and 18 of 43 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep pace with the Nets in the first half and things didn’t get any better in the second half as the Rockets are just so stretched at the moment. Eric Gordon, Danuel House and David Nwaba were all out with injuries.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in a terrible slump as they’ve lost 11 of their past 13 games heading into the All-Star break and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling just short to the Trailblazers in a 123-119 road loss on Thursday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 32 points, eight rebounds and 12 assists, Buddy Hield added 21 points, Harrison Barnes scored 17 points while Marvin Bagley chipped in with 14 points and nine rebounds. As a team, the Kings shot 47 percent from the field and 11 of 29 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to take the lead late in the fourth quarter, until the Trailblazers took the game away with a pivotal 14-2 run to snatch victory from their grasp.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games, 7-20 ATS in their last 27 games against a team with a losing record and 19-41 ATS in their last 60 games overall. The Kings are 0-7 ATS in their last seven home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games overall.

Head to head, the Rockets are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings overall and the Rockets are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Sacramento.

The Rockets have been the coldest team in the league for a while now and their injury woes are expected to continue as Danuel House Jr, Christian Wood and David Nwaba have all been ruled out while Eric Gordon is listed as questionable. The Kings have only been slightly better than the Rockets as they’ve won two of their past 13 games, but they were certainly close to beating the red-hot Trailblazers in their last outing. It’s hard to bet on either team with much confidence, but there is a little more to like about the Kings and I think they can get the job done at home.
