Anthony Davis led the way with 30 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks, LeBron James added 21 points with eight rebounds and nine assists while D’Angelo Russell chipped in with 14 points and five assists. As a team, the Lakers shot 42 percent from the field and five of 29 from the 3-point line as they got off to a poor start, scoring just 18 points in the first quarter to trail for most of the contest, until James turned it on late to carry the Lakers over the line.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting beaten by the Warriors in a 122-114 loss on Friday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 39 points on 14 of 28 shooting, Domantas Sabonis tallied 19 points with 18 rebounds and seven assists while Keegan Murray chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Kings shot 43 percent from the field and 12 of 40 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early lead by allowing 36 points in the second quarter, and things only got worse in the third quarter where the Warriors exploded for 39 points thanks to a barrage from Stephen Curry.

The Lakers are still without Jarred Vanderbilt, but they should have Cam Reddish in hte lineup, while the Kings will again be missing Trey Lyles. The Lakers will be feeling much better now that they’ve won their first game of the season and it’s no surprise that it was LeBron James with the late-game heroics, so I like the Lakers to stay hot with another win, especially as they haven’t played since Thursday.
