The Minnesota Timberwolves have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 10 of their last 12 games and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Lakers in a 118-111 win on Thursday. Anthony Edwards led the team with 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Karl-Anthony Towns added 21 points with six rebounds and four assists while Mike Conley chipped in with 16 points and eight assists. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line as they traded blows with the Lakers in a close contest, until late in the third quarter where they went on a 15-5 run to pull away and improve to an impressive 12-1 at home this season.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in fine form as they’ve won six of their last eight games and they will be eager to keep it going after blowing past the Suns in a 120-105 win last night. Domantas Sabonis led the team with a triple-double of 28 points with 11 rebounds and 12 assists, De’Aaron Fox added 23 points with seven assists, Keegan Murray scored 21 points while Harrison Barnes chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Kings shot 53 percent from the field and 12 of 38 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start to build an unassailable 29-point lead before they finally took their foot off the gas. The Kings will meet the Trail Blazers after this game.

The Timberwolves are a little shorthanded with Karl-Anthony Towns ruled out, while the Kings are still missing Alex Len although he was a full participant in Thursday’s practice. These teams met just four weeks ago and it was the Kings who romped to a 124-111 win, but they’re playing this one on zero days’ rest. Still, the Timberwolves are missing Towns which is a big out, so I’ll stick with the Kings to take advantage at home.
