The San Antonio Spurs really stumbled their way into the All-Star break as they’ve lost eight of their last nine games, and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting humiliated by the Mavericks in a 116-93 road defeat. Victor Wembenyama led the team with 26 points, nine rebounds and five assists, Malaki Branham added 19 points off the bench while Devin Vassell chipped in with 11 points and six assists. As a team, the Spurs shot just 36 percent from the field and 10 of 40 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep pace with the Mavericks, scoring just 19 points in the second quarter to trail going into halftime, before they got blown out by 32-14 to fall behind by as many as 29 points.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last six games overall, but they will be eager to build some momentum after sneaking past the Nuggets in a 102-98 road win in their last outing before the break. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, Domantas Sabonis tallied 20 points with 13 rebounds and seven assists while Harrison Barnes chipped in with 20 points. As a team, the Kings shot 43 percent from the field and nine of 33 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and scored just 16 points in the first quarter to trail by 16 points, before they dominated the second half by 61-45 to come away with the much-needed road win to improve to 16-14 on the road.

This is a game that the Kings have to win with ease if they want to be serious contenders, so I’m backing them to get it done.
