The Los Angeles Clippers and the San Antonio Spurs do battle once again at the AT&T Center on Thursday night.
The Los Angeles Clippers haven’t been at their absolute best lately, but they’ve done well to win four of their last five games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight win after routing the Spurs in a 134-101 road win last night. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 25 points, seven rebounds and five steals, Marcus Morris added 20 points, Paul George scored 17 points while Lou Williams chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Clippers shot a healthy 55 percent from the field and 17 of 33 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 41 points in the first quarter to jump out to an early double-digit lead, before outscoring the Spurs by 31-17 in the fourth quarter to make it a complete blowout.
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have split their last eight games, but they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after getting blown out by the Clippers last night. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 19 points, Patty Mills scored 17 points while Derrick White chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Spurs shot just 45 percent from the field and seven of 22 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and were always fighting an uphill battle after the Clippers got off to a quick start. Dejounte Murray scored just nine points on four of 12 shooting while Keldon Johnson scored just five points on two of seven shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 7-0 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days’ rest. The Spurs are 1-5 ATS in their last six Thursday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
The Clippers made it look easy last night against the Spurs, but it’s always tough to beat the same team twice in a row and in their own building. I expect the Spurs to come out firing after a slow start cost them last night, but the Clippers are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days’ rest and I think that trend continues here as the Clippers win again.
