The San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz meet Thursday in NBA action at the HP Field House.

The San Antonio Spurs look for another victory to improve their playoff odds after winning six of their last eight games. The San Antonio Spurs are averaging 114 points on 47.1 percent shooting and allowing 115.3 points on 47 percent shooting. DeMar DeRozan is averaging 22.1 points and 5.5 rebounds while Patty Mills is averaging 11.6 points and 1.8 assists. Bryn Forbes is the third double-digit scorer and Dejounte Murray is grabbing 5.7 rebounds. The San Antonio Spurs are shooting 37.4 percent from beyond the arc and 81.2 percent from the free thitem line. The San Antonio Spurs are allowing 37.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.4 rebounds per game.

The Utah Jazz could use a feel good victory here after losing five of their last six games. The Utah Jazz are averaging 111.2 points on 47.1 percent shooting and allowing 108.6 points on 45.5 percent shooting. Donovan Mitchell is averaging 24.2 points and 4.3 assists while Jordan Clarkson is averaging 15.7 points and 2.8 rebounds. Rudy Gobert is the third double-digit scorer and Mike Conley is dishing 4.5 assists. The Utah Jazz are shooting 37.9 percent from beyond the arc and 77.8 percent from the free thitem line. The Utah Jazz are allowing 35.1 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45 rebounds per game.

The over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Utah and 11-3 in the last 14 meetings.

The San Antonio Spurs are finally getting respect from oddsmakers after being underdogs in every game since the return, and we’ve been cashing those outright underdog winners along the way. The Spurs have to keep winning in hopes of making the playoffs this season and they’re playing the better basketball here. The issue is this feels like too many points to give away, especially with Donovan Mitchell expected to play for the Jazz. And while the San Antonio Spurs have won games, it’s not like they’re mopping the floor with their opponents. These teams know each other well and have played in some close contests in the past.

Give me the points.
