Alexander Bublik meets Yannick Hanfmann in the first round of the 2020 Kitzbuhel Open in a match which is going to be very interesting. Will Bublik finally put on a show or will he just give up easy points and let Hanfmann take this match by the hands.
Yannick Hanfmann is not a very well known German player but I have seen over the last few months he has been getting a lot of time on the court to prepare himself for the start of the season. I expect Hanfmann will be ready to go here and his big serve and ability to push opponents off the court will come in play here a lot against a player like Bublik who you need to push off the court to ensure he does not hurt you in a match.
Alexander Bublik is one of the most naturally talented players on the tour in my opinion, but he is just a worse version of Kyrgios at the end of the day. They are both filled with talent, but Bublik does not work on improving his mental game. Bublik has made it clear he hates tennis and he only does it for the paycheck, but imagine what he could achieve if he actually cared at the end of the day. I expect maybe after the lockdown things might have changed for Bublik, but we really wont know until he steps out onto the court.
This will be the first meeting between both players, and it could go either way it really depends on Bublik. Alexander Bublik should be winning these matches with ease, but it is hard to know how he will play until he steps out onto the court. Hanfmann will have to take his chances when they come as they do not come often, but if Bublik is concentrated and willing to put the effort in, there is only one winner in my eyes in this match. I expect Bublik will want to make it further than the first round here so he will be focused on the task at hand and win this match.
