We have an incredibly fun encounter on our hands here at the 'A Day At The Drive' tennis exhibition tournament in Australia as Rafael Nadal meets Dominic Thiem on Friday, February 29th 2021. Will we see another repeat of the match of the year last year at the ATP Finals between these two, or will we have a more light-hearted competition?
Dominic Thiem will be looking to get his game up to speed before the ATP Cup and Australian Open next month as he wants to solidify himself as a member of the top 3 by winning his second Grand Slam. Thiem is finally reaching his true potential and it is great to see him play his best tennis. Thiem is the best player on the tour in my opinion outside of Nadal and Federer, and he knows that he is in his prime and its his time to shine. However, this is an exhibition tournament, where we know players love to only have a little bit of fun. Will Thiem give it his all here against Rafa?
Rafael Nadal is the King of exhibition tournaments as he loves to put on a show for the fans in a light-hearted competition situation. Nadal knows how to put on a show and knows how to make the matches very entertaining with incredible shot making. Nadal is going to be in the best physical situation he has been in at the start of the year for a long time due to the long break and he will want to get his tennis back to his best before the ATP Cup and Australian Open.
This is going to be the 16th meeting between between the two, and it is going to be an incredible shot making galore. This is going to be a very fun match between two players who love playing against each other, and they will put on a show. When it comes to Rafael Nadal and exhibition tournaments, one thing is sure, we can expect 3 sets. The player who will win the first set will likely put their guard down in the second, allowing for a long match, and a very entertaining one for the fans.
