Max Purcell is not a very well known player, but in recent times he has been popping up here and there in ATP 250 tournaments where he usually loses in the first or second round. Max in my opinion does not have the game to compete at the highest level, and he is maindly suited to compete in challenger tour and very low quality ATP 250 tournaments. Max will come out here knowing that he is going to have to play at his absolute best if he is going to cause a big upset and shock us all as we expect Sinner to cruise through this match.

Jannik Sinner has been in strong form recently, getting his biggest title of his career so far by winning the Washington Open a few weeks ago and showing us that he will continue to rise up the rankings until he is close to the level of the other top 10 players out there. Jannik is a generational talent and he will know that all he needs to do is continue to put in the hard work, and the results will follow. Jannik will be focused on building some momentum here in New York and seeing if he can make history and go very far in the last grand slam of the year.

This is going to be the 2^nd meeting between both players, with Jannik Sinner having won their only prior encounter. Jannik dominated in their only prior encounter and since then he has improved drastically, so I expect him to dominate this one even more. Max is going to be happy enough with the money he will make in this first round and Jannik will be focused on dominating and getting into the second round to continue improving as a player who is regarded as the future of the game.
