The Phoenix Mercury and Indiana Fever face off on Tuesday in a WNBA basketball showdown at Talking Stick Resort Arena. This is the first meeting played between the two teams this year.

The Phoenix Mercury come into this game with a 10-10 record overall but they were able to win their last game against the Atlanta Dream. The offense was really strong in the last game scoring 92 points and that was the difference as they came away with the victory. On the season the Phoenix Mercury are averaging 80.4 points per game while their defense is giving up 81.5 points per game. Brittney Griner has been the best player for Phoenix averaging 20.2 points while shooting 57.2 percent from the field. Skylar Diggins-Smith is also having a big year averaging 19.1 points while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from behind the three-point line.

On the other side of this matchup is the Indiana Fever who come into this game with a 4-17 record overall but they have won three of their last four games. The loss during that stretch did come in their last game against the Los Angeles Sparks. The offense really struggled in the second half, and that led to them not coming away with the victory. On the season the Indiana Fever are averaging 74.6 points per game while their defense is giving up 84.5 points per game. Kelsey Mitchell and Tiffany Mitchell have been the best players for this team this season. Kelsey Mitchell is averaging 16.3 points while shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 30.3 percent from behind the three-point line.

The Mercury is the way more talented team, and they are going to have no issue getting the job done in this game. Look for Phoenix to run up the score, and Indiana won’t have any answer. Back Phoenix against the spread.
