Phoenix Mercury vs. Indiana Fever
September 4, 2021 1:00 pm EDT

The Indiana Fever and Phoenix Mercury face off on Saturday in a WNBA basketball showdown at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. When these two teams faced off earlier this year, the Mercury were able to win 84-80.

The Indiana Fever have been terrible this season and they currently sit with a 6-19 record overall which puts them in last place in the WNBA. Even though the Fever have really struggled they are coming off a win in their last game against the Los Angeles Sparks. The Fever outscored the Sparks 21-16 and that was enough to seal the victory. Indiana comes into this game averaging 75 points per game while their defense is giving up 83.9 points per game. They are only shooting 41.4 percent from the field and 28 percent from the deep. If they want to win this game, they need the offense to be good. Kelsey Mitchell has been the best player for Indiana averaging 16.6 points while shooting 41.2 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is the Phoenix Mercury who sit with a 16-10 record overall which puts them in 4th place in the Western Conference. The Mercury are playing some good basketball coming into this game having won seven games in a row, and the offense has been the difference. In the last game against the Chicago Sky, Phoenix was able to score 103 points. Phoenix comes into this game averaging 82.4 points while their defense is giving up 79.6 points per game. Brittney Griner has been the best player for Phoenix averaging 20.6 points while shooting 57.5 percent from the field.

The first time these two teams faced off there was plenty of scoring by both teams, and that is going to be the case again in this game. Look for Phoenix to score at least 100 points, and for the over to cash.
