The Las Vegas Aces and Seattle Storm face off on Wednesday in a WNBA playoff game at Michelob ULTRA Arena. These two teams faced off in Game 1 it was the Storm that secured the 76-73 victory.

At the end of the first quarter, the Storm were up 26-13. The Aces were able to come back in the last three quarters, but they couldn’t make enough plays in the last couple of minutes of the 4th quarter, and they were defeated by three points. The Storm were led by Jewell Lloyd, and she finished with 26 points and four assists. The Aces were led by Chelsea Gray, and she finished with 21 points, five assists, and one rebound. Kelsey Plum has added 20 points and four rebounds.

The Aces are averaging 90.4 points, while their defense is giving up 84.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 1st in the WNBA, while their defense is ranked 9th. Kelsey Plum has been the top player for the Aces so far this season, averaging 20.2 points while shooting 46 percent from the field and 42 percent from behind the three-point line.

On the other side of this matchup is the Storm, who will be disappointed with anything less than another WNBA title. The Storm are averaging 82.5 points, while their defense is giving up 78.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 5th in the league, while their defense is ranked 3rd in the league. In the first game, the Storm were able to slow down the pace enough and that was enough to secure the victory. Breanna Stewart is averaging 21.8 points while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from behind the three-point line.

In the first game, the Storm slowed down the pace enough, but in this game, I expect it to be different. The Aces want to push the pace, and they are going to make this game faster-paced. The Aces are averaging 90.4 points per game, and the Storm aren’t going to be able to keep up in this game. The Aces might get close to 100 points in this game, and that will be the difference as Las Vegas gets the job done.
