Seattle Storm vs. Las Vegas Aces 9/4/22 WNBA Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Seattle Storm and Las Vegas Aces face off on Sunday in a WNBA playoff showdown at Climate Pledge Arena. The two teams have split the first two games of this series. 

In the last game, the Aces fell behind early, but they clawed back with a big second and third quarter, and that was enough to secure the 78-73 victory. A’Ja Wilson was the top player for the Aces, putting up 33 points and 13 rebounds. The Strom were led by Breanna Stewart, and she finished with 32 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. This game will probably come down to what role players step up. 

The Storm are averaging 82.5 points, while their defense is giving up 78.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 5th in the league, while their defense is ranked 3rd overall. Breanna Stewart is having quite the season, averaging 21.8 points while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from behind the three-point line. Jewell Lloyd is also having a big season, averaging 16.3 points while shooting 39.6 percent from the field, and 38.5 percent from behind the three-point line. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Aces, who are averaging 90.4 points while their defense is giving up 84.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 1st in the league, while their defense is ranked 9th. So far in this series, the pace hasn’t been as fast, so it’s been the defense that has been even more important. Kelsey Plum has been the top player for the Aces, averaging 20.2 points while shooting 46 percent from the field and 42 percent from behind the three-point line. A’ja Wilson is also averaging 19.5 points while shooting 50 percent from the field. 

Each of the first two games of this series has been lower scoring, and it’s going to be no different in this game. Look for the Storm to force this game to be slower-paced again. There isn’t a good play on the side, but this game is going to be lower scoring and the under is going to cash here with ease.
