The San Antonio Spurs have been in great form as they are now riding a seven-game win streak after blowing past the Kings in a 124-109 road victory last night. Victor Wembenyama led the way with 30 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks while Devin Vassell, Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper each scored 19 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 48 percent from the field and an efficient 15 of 30 from the 3-point line, but the biggest disparity between the teams was actually at the free throw line where the Spurs outscored the Kings by 33-13. The Spurs set the tone with 75 points in the first half to open up a 24-point lead, before they pulled their starters early and allowed the Kings to bring some respectability to the final margin.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been on a nice run themselves as they’ve won six of their first eight games of the season, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after having their three-game win streak snapped by the Lakers in a 124-118 road defeat last night. Deni Avdija led the team with 22 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists, Damian Lillard added 22 points with four assists, while Donovan Clingan chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 51 percent from the field and a sizzling 19 of 43 from the 3-point line as they got off to a great start and led by as many as 16 points early on, before they got smashed by 34-15 in the third quarter to have them trailing the rest of the way. The Trail Blazers racked up an unforgivable 24 turnovers and the worst culprits were Avdija who had eight turnovers and Scoot Henderson who had five turnovers.

The Spurs are still missing the injured Tobias Harris, while the Trail Blazers will again be without Shaedon Sharpe, Vit Krejci and Ja Morant.
The Spurs hold the edge going into this matchup as they are the hotter team, they have almost all their key players healthy and they were able to rest their starters early last night after taking care of business against the Kings. The Trail Blazers enter this contest with plenty of winning momentum themselves which is why the line is so short, but the Spurs won four of six meetings over the Trail Blazers last season and I think that trend continues here with the Spurs escaping with the narrow win and cover.
