In this article, we will formulate a Syracuse vs Stanford prediction for this College Football game on Friday, September 20th at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this Week 4 matchup.

Syracuse Orange Betting Preview

The Syracuse Orange are 2-0 (1-0) this year after they defeated Georgia Tech by a score of 31-28 in their last game. Syracuse led 21-14 at halftime and they were able to score the first 10 points in the second half, which was good enough for the win. The Orange outgained GT by a total of 515-378, didn’t commit a turnover, and went 10-17 on third down in the game. Kyle McCord threw for 381 yards and four touchdowns, while LeQuint Allen rushed for 83 yards and 15 carries.

Syracuse defeated Ohio by a score of 38-22 in their first game. The Syracuse offense has scored 34.5 points per game with 367.5 passing yards and 130 rushing yards per game, while the defense has allowed 25 points per game this season. The Orange have gone 59.4% on third down and 3-3 on fourth down through two games. Kyle McCord has completed 69.4% of his passes for 735 yards, eight touchdowns, and one interception, while LeQuint Allen has rushed for 181 yards.

Stanford Cardinal Betting Preview

The Stanford Cardinal are 1-1 this season after they defeated Cal Poly by a score of 41-7 in their last game. Stanford was tied at seven early in the second quarter, but they scored the last 34 points in the game for an easy win. The Cardinal outgained Cal Poly by a total of 437-229, tied the turnover battle at one, and went 4-10 on third down in the game. Ashton Daniels threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, while Sedrick Irvin caught two passes for 92 yards.

Stanford lost to TCU by a score of 34-27 in their first game of the season. The Stanford offense has scored 34 points per game with 241.5 passing yards and 120 rushing yards per game, while the defense has allowed 20.5 points per game this season. The Cardinal have gone 36% on third down and 4-8 on fourth down so far this season. Ashton Daniels has completed 62.1% of his passes for 384 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, while also rushing for 118 yards on the season.

Syracuse vs Stanford Prediction

Syracuse comes into this matchup after picking up a very nice win against Georgia Tech in their last game. The Orange are 2-0 to start the season and the offense has been very dangerous. Stanford played well enough to cover against TCU in their opener, but their defense has some concerns and cost them that win.

I think Syracuse is going to throw the ball all over the field in this matchup and I expect another huge game from McCord. On the other side, Stanford will find some success against a sketchy Syracuse defense, but they don’t have the firepower to keep up. Take Syracuse at home.
