The Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Dodgers meet Sunday in MLB action from Dodger Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a LA Dodgers vs Colorado Rockies Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Colorado Rockies will start Antonio Senzatela here and Senzatela is 0-0 with a 6.00 ERA and 2 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against the Dodgers, Senzatela is 1-2 with a 6.45 ERA and 12 strikeouts. Yoshinobu Yamamoto will get the nod for the Dodgers here and is 6-2 with a 2.63 ERA and 95 strikeouts this season. This will be Yamamoto’s second career start against the Rockies.

Colorado Rockies Recap

The Colorado Rockies come into this one looking to win the series after evening the set up at one win apiece thanks to a 6-3 win over the Dodgers last time out. The win gives the Rockies a chance for another series win after taking out the Diamondbacks and Cubs over the last week and a half.

Rockies Looking To Finish Season Strong

Ezequiel Tovar leads the Rockies with 166 hits including a team-high 44 doubles, 25 home runs and 74 RBIs with 190 strikeouts as well this season while Ryan McMahon has 20 home runs and 63 RBIs along with 25 doubles and 174 strikeouts as well. Brenton Doyle’s added 24 doubles, 22 home runs, 71 RBIs and a team-high 29 stolen bases as well as 4 triples and Brendan Rodgers has a team-best .265 batting average this season. Michael Toglia’s also chipped in 25 home runs as well this season.

Why the Colorado Rockies will win

  • The Rockies have won six of their last eight games as underdogs after playing the previous day.
  • The Rockies have covered the run line in four of their last five road games against National League opponents after playing the previous day.

Los Angeles Dodgers Recap

The Los Angeles Dodgers come into this game looking to bounce back and win the set after falling short in Saturday’s matchup. The Dodgers would use a win here to build on their series win over the Marlins from earlier in the week.

Dodgers Trying To Clinch Home Field

Shohei Ohtani has 180 hits including a team-high 52 home runs, 34 doubles, 7 triples and 122 RBIs with a .297 batting average while Mookie Betts has 125 hits with 23 doubles, 5 triples, 18 homers and 72 RBIs of his own. Teoscar Hernandez also has 30 home runs with 92 RBIs and a team-high 178 strikeouts. Betts also has 16 stolen bases while Ohtani has a team-high 53 stolen bases. Freddie Freeman also has 22 home runs and 88 RBIs with 33 doubles and Will Smith has added 24 doubles, 19 home runs and 72 RBIs. Andy Pages has also chipped in 23 doubles on the year.

Why the Los Angeles Dodgers will win

  • The Rockies have lost each of their last 13 day games following a win.
  • The Dodgers have won each of their last seven games against the Rockies following a loss.
  • The Dodgers have covered the run line in each of their last seven games against the Rockies following a loss.
  • The Rockies have failed to cover the run line in nine of their last 10 day games against the Dodgers following a win.

LA Dodgers vs Colorado Rockies Prediction

I’m on the Dodgers here. Realistically, it’s hard to find value with the Dodgers at this price, but one win is not going to all of a sudden convince me that the Rockies can win games consistently on the road. The Dodgers are the better team by a mile here, and I think Los Angeles gets it done to take one more step towards home field advantage. Give me Los Angeles.
