The Houston Astros and the Milwaukee Brewers meet in MLB action from American Family Field on Monday night. Let’s dive into the odds, starting pitching matchup, history and make a prediction for this game.

Houston is a -115 road favorite while Milwaukee is a -105 home underdog. The total for this game is set at 8 runs.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Cristian Javier will start for Houston and is 4-1 with a 3.25 ERA and 59 strikeouts this season. Milwaukee will start Corbin Burnes here and he is 4-3 with a 3.48 ERA and 46 strikeouts this season.

Matchup History

Milwaukee won the last meeting between these two teams, 4-2, back on September 3rd, 2019, making it 10 straight meetings without back-to-back winners.

Houston is 31-12 in their last 43 road games and 4-0 in their last 4 games against the NL Central while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 series-opening games. Milwaukee is 7-3 in their last 10 home games and 1-4 in their last 5 games overall while the under is 12-4 in their last 16 games against the AL West.

I’m backing the Astros here. It’s a bit hard to turn down plus money with the Brewers at home with Burnes on the hill, but the Astros are white hot right now and are not a team I’m really looking to go against now that they have Jose Altuve back in the fold. Burnes has also had issues as of late at home and I think the Astros could get to him here. Even if it’s a tight game throughout, I favor the Astros bullpen more than I do Milwaukee’s, so give me Houston at the cheap price.
