A couple of teams meet for the first time this season when the Dallas Mavericks play host to the San Antonio Spurs tonight.
The Spurs started the season winning 13 of their first 14 games, but they've definitely cooled off a bit since and have actually lost two of their last three games. Last night, Manu Ginobili scored a team-high 22 points while Kawhi Leonard and Tim Duncan added 13 and 11 points respectively, but no other Spurs player even reached double figures as they lost by 111-98 at home against the Rockets. The Spurs just didn't look like themselves at all yesterday as they let the Rockets pour in 40 points in the first quarter which basically had them playing from behind from the start, but despite the loss the Spurs are still 22-7 on the season and 10-4 at home.

Coincidentally, the Mavericks are also coming off a game against the Rockets but in their case, they were able to get the win by 111-104 on Monday behind 31 points from Dirk Nowitzki. Monta Ellis added 18 and Jose Calderon added 15, but the Mavs aren't getting too excited with the win because it came against a Rockets outfit playing without James Harden who sat out with an ankle sprain. Despite the win, Dallas is still only 3-4 in their last seven games and 16-12 on the season.
In ATS trends, the Spurs are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games following a double digit loss at home and 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games, while the Mavs are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the Spurs are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and 5-1 ATS in the last six in Dallas.
I don't really like taking the Spurs on a second night of a back to back set, but all the trends are pointing to a win and cover for the Spurs against the Griz tonight.
