The Line: Chicago Bulls -1 -- Over/Under: 190 See the Latest Odds
The Chicago Bulls collide with the Phoenix Suns from the United Center on Tuesday night.
Head to head, the road team is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings. The Bulls are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall, but just 8-26-1 ATS in their last 35 games playing on 2 days rest and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. The Suns on the other hand are 14-5-1 ATS in their last 20 games following a S.U. win, 12-3 ATS in their last 15 road games and 23-8-1 ATS in their last 32 games overall.
In breaking news, Luol Deng was just traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Andrew Bynum and a draft pick, so he will obviously be missing tonight. Carlos Boozer is also a game time decision with a sore right knee while Suns guard Eric Bledsoe is quiestionable with a sprained right knee. I have only found a couple of lines out for this game, so I'm just going to go with them. I will adjust the pick if the line shifts dramatically.
Chicago has actually been playing some good basketball of late, coming off two straight wins and five of their last seven overall. The Bulls have also covered in six of eight, but they will obviously be short-handed tonight one way or another. Meanwhile, Phoenix has won six of eight straight up and against the spread and they have covered the number in 12 of their 15 road games to date. That would make the Suns the premier team in the NBA at covering the number away from home, impressive for a team that was predicted to finish at the bottom of the Western Conference this season.
I've been on the Phoenix train pretty hard this season, and for good reason as they have been a covering machine, especially away from home. Chicago will obviosuly be without Deng and possibly Boozer and I just don't see where their offense is going to come from. The Bulls are always tough no matter who is playing, but I think the Suns have what it takes to win this one going away...
