The Denver Nuggets hope to turn things with a visit from the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.
Head to head, the Kings are 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings while the road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings and the favorite is 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings. The Nuggets are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a losing road record, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Kings on the other hand are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 0 days rest, but just 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
If you had just starting watching NBA basketball two weeks ago, you would swear that the Denver Nuggets were the worst team in in the entire league. Granted, all of their point guards are out injured, but that doesn't really excuse losing six of their last seven games by an average of 23.5 points per contest. Only one of those six losses was decided by 15 points or less, which was a home loss to Phoenix at the start of the week.
The Sacramento Kings come into tonight's game having won two of three following their 105-98 home win over a short-handed Boston Celtics squad last night. I would love to say that the Kings are starting to get some consitency in their game, but I would be lying if I said that was true as their results this past month have been as up and down as ever. Sac-Town hasn't alternated wins and losses that much, but you still just don't know what to expect from this team from a night-to-night basis.
I don't think you could take either side in this one and feel comfortable about it. Yes, the Nuggets are back at home, but the Pepsi Center isn't the fortress it once was as they have covered the spread in just 10 of their 26 home games to date. The Kings have more talent with all the injuries to Denver, but they are still a very inconsistent team. Taking the points in this one...
