The San Antonio Spurs will put their 10-game winning streak on the line when they visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night. This is the third of four scheduled meetings between the teams, and the Spurs lead the series 2-0.
Now that the Spurs are finally healthy, they’re playing of their best basketball of the season. Just in the Spurs last five games, they’re averaging 113.8 points on 51.4 percent shooting and are allowing 97.4 points on 42 percent shooting. The Spurs have topped 100 points in eight straight games and are grabbing 48.2 rebounds in their last five games. San Antonio guard Danny Green is questionable for this game with a wrist injury. The San Antonio Spurs are 34-32 ATS overall and 19-13 ATS on the road.

The nightmare of a season continues for the Lakers, as they’ve lost five of their last six games. The Lakers have allowed 100-plus points in 11 straight games and are allowing teams to shoot 50.3 percent from the field in their last five matchups. The lack of defense has killed Los Angeles all year, as it is allowing 108.4 points on 46.1 percent shooting on the season. Offensively, center Pau Gasol has posted a double-double twice in his last three games. The Los Angeles Lakers are 34-31-1 ATS overall and 15-15-1 ATS at home.
The Spurs are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Lakers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 3 or more days rest.
I usually shy away from laying big chalk with a road team, but there’s no reason not to take the Spurs. The Lakers just lost to the Spurs 119-85 last Friday, and the result won’t be much different in this contest.
The Spurs are finally healthy and starting to peak with the playoffs right around the corner, while the Lakers are being left for dead and refuse to play any defense.
Get this number while you can, as it will probably go up.
