The Milwaukee Bucks will be looking to stay hot when they take on the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center on Monday night.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been on a tear lately as they’ve won seven of their last eight games and they will be gunning for a season-high fifth straight victory after outlasting the Mavericks in a 112-109 home win on Friday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 31 points on 14 of 21 shooting, Khris Middleton added 25 points with eight rebounds and six assists while Jrue Holiday chipped in with 16 points and five assists. As a team, the Bucks shot 44 percent from the field and 14 of 37 from the 3-point line as they rode the hot hand of Middleton who scored eight of his 25 points in the final 2:21. Antetokounmpo had a rough shooting night as he made just one of 10 from the free thitem line which almost cost them down the stretch.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have won five of their past seven games and they will be gunning for a fourth straight win after taking down the Magic in a 122-115 home win on Saturday. Kevin Durant led the way with 42 points on 16 of 26 shooting, James Harden racked up a triple-double of 32 points with 12 rebounds and 14 assists in his debut, while Joe Harris chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Nets shot 53 percent from the field and 16 of 35 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going in the first half, before exploding for 70 points in the second half thanks largely to Durant and Harden.

Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 road games and 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a win. The Nets are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on one days rest.

Head to head, the over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall, the Bucks are 27-10-1 ATS in the last 38 meetings overall and the Bucks are 16-4-1 ATS in the last 21 meetings in Brooklyn.

The Bucks have been in a groove lately and they will be full of confidence riding a four-game win streak, but now they’re up against a real test in the new-look Nets who will only improve with each game Harden plays with Durant. Antetokounmpo has been struggling with his shot lately and it could cost the Bucks this time as the Nets can put up point against anyone, but I think this one comes down to the role players. The Bucks are just about at full strength while the Nets are clearly heavily reliant on their two superstars. I can see why you’d go with the Nets who will see this as a statement game, but I think the smarter play is on the more settled Bucks with this short line.
