The Denver Nuggets play host to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Ball Arena on Friday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in a slump as they've lost five of their past seven games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling painfully short to the Lakers in a 114-113 overtime road loss on Wednesday. Al Horford led the team with 25 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, Kenrich Williams added 24 points on 11 of 14 shooting, Luguentz Dort scored 17 points while Hamidou Diallo chipped in with 15 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Thunder shot 47 percent from the field and seven of 31 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter to lead by as many as 20 points, before turning the ball over on the final play of overtime to lose by the smallest of margins.
Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been in a bit of a rut themselves as they've lost four of their past six games, but they will be feeling better after snapping a three-game skid with a 133-95 home win over the Cavaliers on Wednesday. Paul Millsap led the team with 22 points on seven of eight shooting, Michael Porter Jr. added 19 points on six of 10 shooting while Will Barton chipped in with 16 points on seven of 10 shooting. As a team, the Nuggets shot a sizzling 60 percent from the field and 16 of 36 from the 3-point line as they poured in 64 points in the first half to lead by 21 points at halftime, before putting the game to bed with another 36 points in the third quarter.
Looking at the betting trends, the Thunder are 36-17 ATS in their last 53 road games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Nuggets are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a losing record and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games following a win of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Thunder are 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings in Denver and the Thunder are 1-12 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall.
The Thunder will be feeling so much better if they were able to get over the Lakers in their last outing, but they've been struggling lately and they will be without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who is out with a left knee injury. The Nuggets are clearly the better team and they were impressive in their dominant win over the Cavaliers in their last outing, The Thunder are 1-12 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall and I think that trend continues as the Nuggets should be too good here.
