The Atlanta Hawks pay a visit to the Phoenix Suns at the PHX Arena on Tuesday night.
The Atlanta Hawks have cooled off lately as they’ve lost three of their last four games since their eight-game win streak and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting thrashed by the Nuggets in a 126-102 road loss on Sunday. Trae Young led the team with 21 points and seven assists, Danilo Gallinari added 14 points off the bench while John Collins chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Hawks shot 47 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start with 35 points in the first quarter, before getting thoroughly outplayed the rest of the way after scoring just 20 points in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been one of the most consistent teams in the league as they’ve won 11 of their past 14 games and they will be aiming for a third straight win after outlasting the Hornets in a 101-97 road win on Sunday. Devin Booker led the team with 35 points on 10 of 26 shooting, Chris Paul added 16 points, DeAndre Ayton scored 14 points with 14 rebounds while Mikal Bridges chipped in with 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists and six steals. As a team, the Suns shot just 35 percent from the field and eight of 40 from the 3-point line as they squandered a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter, before making up for their mistakes in overtime to come away with the hard-fought win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a loss and 18-7 ATS in their last 25 Tuesday games. The Suns are 21-8 ATS in their last 29 home games, 26-12 ATS in their last 38 games following a win and 38-15 ATS in their last 53 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings overall, the Hawks are 1-3-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Phoenix and the Hawks are 7-15-1 ATS in their last 23 meetings overall.
The Hawks have fallen off the pace with three losses in their last four games, while the Suns have stayed how with five wins in their last six outings. Lou Williams is a chance to play his first game back in a Hawks uniform, but I don’t think that will change the outcome as the Suns are 15-7-1 ATS in the last 23 meetings overall and I think that trend continues here.
