The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Detroit Pistons at the Staples Center on Sunday night.
The Detroit Pistons have split their last eight games and they will be hoping to bounce back after last night’s 118-103 road loss on Saturday. Josh Jackson led the team in scoring with 21 points, Frank Jackson added 17 points off the bench while Saddiq Bey chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Pistons shot 44 percent from the field and nine of 26 from the 3-point line as they fell behind by double-digits early, before getting blown out in the third quarter where the Trailblazers poured in 36 points to put them behind by 24 points. Jerami Grant sat out his second straight game with knee soreness and his status for Sunday is unclear.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in red-hot form lately as they’ve won 10 of their past 12 games and they will be looking to build on their current four-game win streak after routing the Rockets in a 126-109 home win on Friday. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 31 points and eight assists on 11 of 20 shooting, Reggie Jackson added 26 points with seven assists while Nicolas Batum chipped in with 17 points off the bench. As a team, the Clippers shot 54 percent from the field and 19 of 37 from the 3-point line as they fell behind by 14 points early, before taking full control of the game in the second quarter where they outscored the Rockets by 41-10 to lead by as many as 23 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games playing on zero days’ rest and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team above .600. The Clippers are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.

The Pistons have been able to beat some of the lesser teams in the league, but they’ve struggled against the elite teams and I don’t expect that to change against a red-hot Clippers team who have won four straight games by an average of 15.5 points. The Clippers have really enjoyed this current homestand and I think that continues here as they win comfortably once again.
