The Charlotte Hornets pay a visit to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.

The Charlotte Hornets have been in decent form as they’ve won eight of their past 15 games and they will be looking to build momentum after arresting a four-game slide with a 109-101 home win over the Trailblazers on Sunday. Terry Rozier led the team with 34 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists, PJ Washington added 23 points, eight rebounds and four blocks off the bench while Miles Bridges chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Hornets shot 47 percent from the field and 18 of 43 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 44 points in the first quarter to take an early 29-point lead, before winning by single digits as they managed just 16 points in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have been in great shape lately as they’ve won seven of their past nine games and they will be eager to build on their current six-game win streak after outlasting the Pelicans in a 122-112 overtime home win on Sunday. Julius Randle led the team with 33 points, 10 assists and five steals, Derrick Rose added 23 points with five assists while RJ Barrett chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Knicks shot 47 percent from the field and 11 of 29 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 15-point lead, before regrouping in overtime where they opened with a 9-2 run to pull away for the win late.

Looking at the betting trends, the Hornets are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record, 2-7 ATS in their last nine games as a road underdog and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Knicks are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, 22-8 ATS in their last 30 games as a favorite and 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall and the Hornets are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.

The Hornets haven’t been at their best but they will be feeling so much better after stopping a four-game slide with a nice win over the Trailblazers on Sunday, while the Knicks are coming into this game with plenty of momentum after beating the Pelicans for their sixth straight win. I can see the Hornets pulling off the upset if Rozier has another big game, but I think the smarter play is on the Knicks who are playing some of their best basketball of the season.
