The Brooklyn Nets and the Houston Rockets collide at the Toyota Center on Tuesday night.

The Brooklyn Nets have been in a real funk as they’ve lost six of their last nine games overall, but they will be aiming for a third straight victory after blowing past the Hornets in a 102-86 home win on Sunday. Mikal Bridges led the team with 33 points on 12 of 21 shooting, Spencer Dinwiddie added 24 points with eight rebounds and eight assists while Cam Johnson chipped in with 11 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Nets shot 39 percent from the field and 12 of 43 from the 3-point line as they dominated from the tip and outscored the Hornets by 70-41 in the first half, before they took their foot off the gas in the second half with the game already won. Bridges was on fire in this one as he made his first nine shots to finish with 19 points in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets are starting to build some momentum as they are now aiming for a third straight victory after making light work of the Spurs in a 142-110 win on Sunday. Jalen Green led the team with 31 points on 11 of 19 shooting, Kevin Porter Jr. added 19 points with 13 assists, Tari Eason scored 17 points while Jae’Sean Tate chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Rockets shot a sizzling 61 percent from the field and 13 of 24 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 38 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, before they dominated the second half 69-47 to make it a complete blowout in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 15-35-1 ATS in their last 51 games against a team below .400 and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points. The Rockets are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.

Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall, the Nets are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Nets are 6-2 ATS In the last eight meetings in Houston.

The Nets are shorthanded again as Ben Simmons is out, while the Rockets don’t have a single player listed on the injury report. The Nets were really struggling to stay competitive before they won their last two games and you could say the same about the Rockets who are coming off two big wins over the Spurs. You couldn’t back either team with much confidence these days, but I’m more impressed with the Nets’ recent form and I think they can keep it going with a win over this young Rockets squad.
