The Sacramento Kings play host to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Golden 1 Center on Saturday night.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last eight games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Lakers in a 110-102 road win last night. Rudy Gobert led the team in scoring with 22 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks on eight of 12 shooting, Anthony Edwards added 19 points, Naz Reid scored 15 points off the bench while Mike Conley chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 47 percent from the field and 14 of 34 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Lakers in a tightly contested first half, before they started to pull away behind their defense, holding the Lakers to just 21 points in the third quarter to set up the impressive win. Defensively, the Timberwolves couldn’t do much to slow down the Lakers’ Anthony Davis who poured in 38 points, but they kept a lid on Dennis Schroder who scored just six points on three of 13 shooting.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in red-hot form as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be gunning for a sixth straight victory after outlasting the Clippers in a 128-127 home win last night. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 33 points and seven assists, Domantas Sabonis added 23 points with 10 rebounds and seven assists, Harrison Barnes scored 20 points while Kevin Huerter chipped in with 18 points on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Kings shot 52 percent from the field and 10 of 33 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 68 points in the first half to build a 12-point lead, but they never put the Clippers away and had to win the game on free throws from Sabonis with just 7.0 seconds left on the clock to escape with the narrow win after leading for most of the game.

Looking at the betting trends, the Timberwolves are 4-0 ATS in their last four games playing on zero days rest and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games against a team with a winning record. The Kings are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games playing on zero days rest and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.

Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Sacramento and the Timberwolves are 5-2-1 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.

The Timberwolves are still missing Karl-Anthony Towns and Jaylen Nowell, while the Kings will be without Richaun Holmes once again. The Timberwolves have sprung to life with two impressive wins, but that’s nothing compared to the Kings who are playing some of their best basketball of the season to win five in a row and eight of their last 10 games. The Timberwolves were able to beat the Lakers despite quiet games from Edwards, but they’re going to need him at his best against this red-hot Kings team who are coming off a thrilling win over the Clippers. This should be a close one, but the Kings are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games playing on zero days rest and I think that trend continues here.
