The Sacramento Kings and the Denver Nuggets do battle at the Ball Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The Sacramento Kings have cooled off a bit with three losses in their past four outings and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting beaten by the Warriors in a 119-97 loss on Friday. Trey Lyles and Chimezie Metu each scored 15 points while Harrison Barnes chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Kings shot 38 percent from the field and 11 of 39 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to cut into an early 16-point deficit, only to get blown out in the second half where they just had no way of slowing down the Warriors.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost five of their last six games now and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after falling short to the Jazz in a 118-114 road loss on Saturday. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the team with 21 points, Jamal Murray added 20 points with five assists while Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr each scored 15 points. As a team, the Nuggets shot 45 percent from the field and 15 of 46 from the 3-point line as they rallied all the way back from a 19-point deficit, only to go cold and manage just 19 points in the fourth quarter to allow the Jazz off the hook.

Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 36-16-1 ATS in their last 53 road games and 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games against a team above .600. The Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days rest and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record.

Head to head, the over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Denver and the Kings are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Denver.

The Kings could be shorthanded again as Davion Mitchell and Malik Monk are both questionable, while the Nuggets are keeping an eye on Jeff Green who is questionable here. The Kings have gone off the boil lately, but they will be up for this one and they should be well rested, so I’ll back the Kings who are 36-16-1 ATS in their last 53 road games.
