The Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets meet Wednesday in NBA action at the Spectrum Center. Here’s a Hornets vs Nets Prediction. This article will include a Hornets vs Nets Pick.

Brooklyn Nets Betting Preview

The Brooklyn Nets won 26 games last season and have missed the playoffs in the last 2 seasons. Owner Joe Tsai recently said the Nets are in a rebuilding year and suggested the team will be tanking.

Honestly, there’s not a lot to like about the Nets. Michael Porter Jr. is a solid player when he’s healthy, but that’s a serious concern given his history. Cam Thomas and Nic Claxton have moments, but they’re not consistent enough to move the needle. Terance Mann plays hard, but he’s a role player for the most part. Obviously, seeing Egor Demin mature at point guard could make or break the Nets. There’s just not any difference makers on this Nets roster, and it suggests this will be another season where they miss the playoffs.

Charlotte Hornets Betting Preview

The Charlotte Hornets won 19 games last season and haven’t made the playoffs since the 2015-16 season. The Hornets haven’t won a playoff series since the 2001-02 season.

There’s no reason to be high on the Hornets given their history, but I believe this is a playoff dark horse if things come together. Of course, that starts with a full season from LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller. Ball has played 60 games just once in his career, and it’s simply inexcusable. Miles Bridges is a proven-underrated power forward, and the addition of Collin Sexton provides depth and feistiness defensively. A full season of Grant Williams wouldn’t hurt either. The East is wide open this season and there’s talent on this roster. It’s just a matter of staying healthy and buying in rather than excepting failure. I’d take a stab with the Hornets making the playoffs odds this season.

  • The Nets have failed to cover the spread in each of their last five games as underdogs.

Hornets vs Nets Injury Report

The Hornets don’t have any players listed on their injury report.

The Nets will be without Haywood Highsmith due to a knee injury.

Hornets vs Nets Prediction

The Nets are an awful team that I’ll be fading a lot this season. There’s just not a lot of talent, and the owner is on record that they’re going to be tanking for a top pick. I know the Hornets have a history of being bad themselves, but I like this roster and think this is a potential playoff team in the east if guys stay healthy and take things seriously for once. The line isn’t crazy. Give me the Hornets.
