Los Angeles Clippers vs Utah Jazz NBA Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/19/21

Two Western Conference giants collide as the Utah Jazz take on the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center on Friday night.

The Utah Jazz have been in franchise-best form as they’ve won 20 of their past 21 games and they will be looking to build on a current nine-game win streak after blowing past the shorthanded Clippers in a 114-95 road win on Wednesday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 24 points and seven assists, Rudy Gobert added 23 points and 20 rebounds on eight of 12 shooting while Jordan Clarkson chipped in with 18 points off the bench. As a team, the Jazz shot 42 percent from the field and 13 of 40 from the 3-point line as they didn’t have the best shooting night, but their defense created their offense in the second half where they outscored the Clippers by 68-45.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in great form themselves as they’ve won eight of their past 12 games, but they will be hoping to bounce back after having their four-game win streak halted by the surging Jazz on Wednesday. Lou Williams led the team with 16 points and six assists, Reggie Jackson added 15 points with five assists while Serge Ibaka chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the Clippers shot 44 percent from the field and nine of 26 from the 3-point line as they scrapped and clawed their way to a five-point lead at halftime, before getting completely outplayed in the second half. Marcus Morris scored just nine points on four of 15 shooting and they got next to nothing from their second unit as they just had so many players out injured in Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Luke Kennard and Nicolas Batum.

Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record, 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 21-5 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Clippers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 11-2 ATS in their last 13 games following a loss of more than 10 points.

Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Jazz are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Los Angeles and the Jazz are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall.

Mike Conley is listed as questionable for the Jazz, while Nicolas Batum, Kawhi Leaonard, Luke Kennard and Paul George are all listed as questionable for the Clippers. There’s plenty of uncertainty in this matchup with so many players likely to sit out, but one thing that has been certain is that the Jazz are currently the best team in the league and I think they can keep the momentum going with an easy win here.
