The Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Los Angeles Clippers at the Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday night.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers have won three of their first four games of the season and they will be looking to stay hot after routing the Magic in a 118-102 home win last night. Paul George led the way with 27 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Russell Westbrook added 18 points with seven assists and five steals while Bones Hyland and Norman Powell scored 17 points each. As a team, the Clippers shot 49 percent from the field and 14 of 31 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start, missing their first 11 shots to finish with just 13 points in the first quarter. The Clippers knew the shots would drop eventually and they did just that as they exploded for 41 points in the third quarter to pull away and win easily.

Los Angeles Lakers

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have split their first four games of the season and they will be eager to build some momentum after sneaking past the Magic in a 106-103 win on Monday. D’Angelo Russell led the way with 28 points and eight assists on 10 of 14 shooting, Anthony Davis added 26 points with 19 rebounds and five assists while LeBron James chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Lakers shot 53 percent from the field and eight of 27 from the 3-point line as they fell behind early and trailed for most of the contest, but they stayed within striking distance and made their move in the fourth quarter to escape with the hard-fought win over the pesky Magic.

Peter’s Pick

The Lakers have listed Rui Hachimura as doubtful, while the Clippers are coming in with the same team unless their new players are available. The Lakers have opened as slight favorites here which isn’t too surprising given that the Clippers are playing their second game of a back to back set, but it’s early in the season so I’m just going with the team that has looked better so far. I’ll take the Clippers to pull off the minor upset in this spot.

Joe Hall's Free Pick: Los Angeles Clippers +4.5
