The Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been in great shape as they’ve won 10 of their last 14 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the Heat in a 113-106 home win on Monday. Tyrese Maxey led the team with 28 points on nine of 15 shooting, Shake Milton added 20 points with six assists while Furkan Korkmaz chipped in with 18 points off the bench. As a team, the 76ers shot 50 percent from the field and 15 of 37 from the 3-point line as they poured in 31 points in the second quarter to take the narrow lead into halftime, before they used a decisive 18-4 run late in the fourth quarter to pull away and earn the statement victory without Joel Embiid.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in poor form as they’ve lost 10 of their last 14 games overall, but they will be hoping to build some momentum here after taking down the Cavaliers in a 131-120 road win on Monday. LeBron James led the team with a triple-double of 38 points with 11 rebounds and 12 assists, Russell Westbrook and DJ Augustin each scored 20 points while Austin Reaves chipped in with 11 points and six assists. As a team, the Lakers shot a healthy 56 percent from the field and 12 of 32 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 39 points in the second quarter to rally back from an early 14-point deficit, before they opened the fourth quarter on a 24-14 run to pull away and escape with the big win.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The Lakers are 6-23 ATS in their last 29 games following a win of more than 10 points and 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the 76ers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Los Angeles and the 76ers are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
The Lakers could be shorthanded for this one as LeBron James and Talen Horton-Tucker are both listed as questionable while the 76ers are coming into this one at full strength which is a rarity in the league this season. The 76ers are clearly the team in better shape and they will be full of confidence after taking down the Heat in a statement win on Monday, so I’ll stick with them to take down the slumping Lakers who could be missing their best player in this one. The 76ers are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and I think that trend continues here as the 76ers win easily.
