The Charlotte Hornets and the Minnesota Timberwolves collide at the Target Center on Tuesday night.

The Charlotte Hornets have been in a major slump as they’ve lost nine of their past 12 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after coming up short against the Grizzlies in a 125-118 home loss on Saturday. Terry Rozier led the team with 35 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, LaMelo Ball added 25 points while Montrezl Harrell chipped in with 20 points and nine rebounds on seven of eight shooting off the bench. As a team, the Hornets shot just 40 percent from the field and 14 of 45 from the 3-point line, but this game was over before halftime as the Hornets were already trailing big after getting outscored by 36-15 in the first quarter. Miles Bridges had a night to forget as he scored just eight points on two of 13 shooting from the field.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in decent shape as they’ve won six of their past eight games and they will be looking to stay hot after outlasting the Pacers in a 129-120 road win on Sunday. Anthony Edwards led the team with 37 points on 13 of 25 shooting, D’Angelo Russell added 23 points with six assists while Karl-Anthony Towns chipped in with 15 points, 13 rebounds and three assists in just 22 minutes of action. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 51 percent from the field and a sizzling 18 of 34 from the 3-point line as they dominated early on and led by as many as 18 points, before having to rally in the fourth quarter after the Pacers cut the lead to just two points late in the third quarter.

Looking at the betting trends, the Hornets are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games, 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The Timberwolves are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall.

Head to head, the Hornets are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Minnesota and the Hornets are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.

The Hornets will again be without Jalen McDaniels, Cody Martin and Gordon Hayward, while the Timberwolves are just about at full strength for this one. The Hornets have been mired in their worst slump of the season while the Timberwolves have been in a groove, so while the Hornets are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall, I have to side with the Timberwolves who are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games.
