The Canterbury Rams have won five of the last eight meetings against the Nelson Giants, which includes a 23-point victory a couple of weeks ago.

Neither of these teams are playing great basketball entering this contest, so this is a spot where I usually lean toward the points and take my chances. However, it’s hard to ignore the last meeting between these clubs a couple weeks ago, as the Canterbury Rams won by 23 points and outscored them in three of the four quarters. The Nelson Giants are also coming off a loss to the Franklin Bulls where they scored just 69 points, which is a rough sign of things moving forward.

Give me the Canterbury Rams and the small chalk.
