The Houston Rockets have been doing it tough lately as they’ve lost eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting thrashed by the Thunder in a 112-95 road defeat on Tuesday. Alperen Sengun led the team with 23 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, Jabari Smith Jr added 18 points with 13 rebounds while Jalen Green chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Rockets shot just 38 percent from the field and nine of 39 from the 3-point line as they struggled to match the Thunder in the second quarter and fell behind by 10 points going into halftime. The Rockets did put up a bit of a fight to stay within striking distance, only to get blown out in the end as they couldn’t come back with Fred VanVleet shooting just two of 11 from the field to finish with only five points.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been in strong form as they’ve won six of their last nine games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the Lakers in a 123-113 home win on Sunday. Grayson Allen led the team in scoring with 24 points, Kevin Durant added 22 points, Devin Booker scored 21 points with nine assists while Royce O’Neale chipped in with 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Suns shot 47 percent from the field and 17 of 40 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start, pouring in 45 points in the first quarter to open up an early 20-point lead to allow them to cruise in the second half.

The Rockets are still a little shorthanded with Tari Eason still out, while the Suns are keeping eyes on Eric Gordon and Bradley Beal who are both questionable for this one. The Rockets are mired in their worst slump of the season and their confidence took a shot to the guts after getting blown out by the Thunder twice in a row. The Suns come into this game with plenty of winning momentum, they looked great in their win over the Lakers and they can still take care of business even if Beal isn’t able to suit up here. The line is a bit hefty, but I think the Suns stay hot with another win and cover at home.
