We’ll start today’s NBA action with the Raptors vs Hawks Player Prop Bets on Sunday, January 28. The Toronto Raptors are coming to Georgia after losing eight of the previous nine games, while the Atlanta Hawks are hoping to avoid the fifth consecutive defeat.
Raptors vs Hawks Player Prop Bets – Trae Young Over 25.5 Points (-114)
Trae Young returned from a two-game absence and scored 30 points in a home loss to the Mavericks. He has been in a hot and cold form of late, so backing Young on points is not the smartest thing to do right now. However, I have some solid reasons to bet on Atlanta’s point guard.
Young always plays well against the Raptors. This season, Young scored 35 and 38 points in two games against them, respectively. Trae combined for 11 triples and 28 assists in those two duels. In 16 career games against Toronto, Young averages 27.3 ppg.
Atlanta has the fourth-best offense in the NBA which averages 120.1 ppg, while Toronto allows 116.6 ppg this year. Young took 56 combined shots in two H2Hs against the Raptors this season, so I expect he will score at least 26 points from around 25 shots. Let’s not forget free throws; Young is averaging 7.1 FTM in this campaign.
Dejounte Murray Over 5.5 Assists (-104)
For the second pick in the Raptors vs Hawks Player Prop Bets, I have another Hawks guard. Dejounte Murray has been playing well recently; he particularly excelled in games when Young wasn’t available. Now when Trae is back, Murray’s points will drop, but he has the team’s top scorer to assist. Given how Young plays against Toronto this year and the big number of shots he’s taking, I am backing Murray to register at least four or five assists to Young.
The total of 5.5 assists on one of the most versatile guards in the NBA is a steal, in my opinion. Dejounte recorded 6+ dimes in four of the last five games. In two H2Hs against the Raptors this year, Murray had 14 assists in total.
Although the Hawks are just 20th in the league in assists per game with 25.7, the Raptors have the fifth-worst record as they allow 27.9 apg to the opponents. I expect a lot of points from the hosts; the Hawks did score 125+ in two H2Hs.
