For the second NBA prop picks piece on Sunday, January 28, we have the Suns vs Magic Player Prop Bets. The Phoenix Suns are hoping to return to winning ways after a loss to Indiana snapped their seven-game winning run, while the Orlando Magic look to avoid the fifth defeat in six games.

Suns vs Magic Player Prop Bets – Kevin Durant Over 6.5 Rebounds (+100)

Kevin Durant didn’t play well in the last two games. He combined for just 32 points and made only 13 shots; Durant’s 12 points in a blowout win against Dallas was his lowest since November 2022. Orlando has the second-best defense against power forwards this season as the Magic allow 21.5 ppg to the opposing PFs.

Even though Durant scored 30 earlier this season against the Magic, I will avoid backing him on points here. When it comes to rebounds, Orlando allows 10.0 rpg to the opposing power forwards. Durant registered 7+ boards in three of the previous four games and is the team’s second-top rebounder with 6.4 rpg, behind Jusuf Nurkic.

Nurkic exited the last game after sustaining a sprained left thumb, and he could miss tonight’s tilt in Florida. If that occurs, Durant should easily grab at least seven rebounds. Bol Bol is out injured, so Durant would be the tallest guy on the floor for the Suns.

Paolo Banchero Over 7.5 Rebounds (+110)

For the second pick in the Suns vs Magic Player Prop Bets, I’ll go with another power forward. Paolo Banchero leads Orlando in several segments this season; points (22.6), rebounds (7.0), assists (4.9), and minutes per game (34.8). The points total on him is 23.5 and I won’t back him because Banchero is not consistent recently. He scored 24+ points in just two of the last seven games. And I am not an under guy, so I’ll turn to rebounds instead.

Although he also didn’t impress in rebounding lately, Banchero grabbed 8+ boards in four of the past eight showings. In a lone H2H against Phoenix this year, Banchero recorded nine rebounds. The Suns allow 9.8 rpg to the opposing power forwards, so a minimum of eight for Orlando’s PF seems realistic here.

Phoenix does have one of the best defenses against rebounds this year as they allow 40.7 rpg. However, Nurkic could sit this one out due to a thumb injury, which would be a great chance for Banchero to get some offensive boards. He averages 1.2 orpg per game, but with Nurk out, Banchero could grab two or three.
