The Sacramento Kings play host to the Phoenix Suns at the Golden 1 Center on Sunday night.
The Phoenix Suns kicked off their season with a naritem win, but they are coming into this one looking to bounce back after last night’s 106-103 road loss to the Kings. Devin Booker led the team in scoring with 26 points on 10 of 21 shooting, Chris Paul added 22 points with 12 assists and two steals while Jae Citemder chipped in with 17 points and eight rebounds, but no other player finished in double figures. As a team, the Suns shot just 41 percent from the field and 11 of 44 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from a 13-point deficit, only to fall just short as they just couldn’t get the stops when they needed them.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings will be gunning for a third straight win to start the season after last night’s win over the Suns. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 24 points and seven assists, Buddy Hield added 14 points on four of 14 shooting, Marvin Bagley III scored 13 points while Harrison Barnes chipped in with a double-double of 11 points with 10 rebounds. As a team, the Kings shot 45 percent from the field and a miserly five of 23 from the 3-point line, but where they won the game was in the paint and on the boards as they outrebounded the Suns by 56-40 while scoring 62 points in the paint.

The Suns showed plenty of fight to rally against the Kings last night, but it was concerning that they lost despite the Kings shooting just five of 23 from the 3-point line while committing 18 turnovers. The Kings will be brimming with confidence from their solid start to the season and I think they can surprise us again with another good performance at home. I rarely back the Kings to beat anyone, but they look like decent value as home underdogs in this one.
