The Orlando Magic travel to the AT&T center to do battle with the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night.

The Orlando Magic have been in a funk lately as they will be hoping to put an end to a six-game skid after last night’s 111-103 road loss to the Heat. Nikola Vucevic led the team with 24 points, 17 rebounds and three assists, Dwayne Bacon added 21 points while Michael Carter-Williams chipped in with 17 points and seven assists, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Magic shot just 40 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to hang with the Heat, until midway through the fourth quarter where the Heat went on a 8-0 run to steal the game late. Khem Birch shot zero of six from the field while Al-Farouq Aminu shot zero of seven from the field.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in a funk lately as they’ve lost four of their last six games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling to the Mavericks in a 115-104 road loss on Wednesday. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 30 points, 11 assists and four steals, Patty Mills added 14 points off the bench while Rudy Gay chipped in with 13 points, nine rebounds and three steals. As a team, the Spurs shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 28 from the 3-point line as they got off to a strong start and took the lead going into halftime, before going cold when it mattered most as they managed just 18 points in the fourth quarter to allow the Mavericks to win easily in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Spurs are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 home games against a team with a road record below .400 and 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games against a team below .400.

Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall and the Magic are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in San Antonio.

The Magic haven’t been able to buy a win lately and they will be disappointed with last night’s loss as they were right in the contest until late in the fourth quarter. The Spurs have been in a rut of their own and they will be looking to respond after last night’s loss to the Mavericks. The Spurs aren’t playing their best basketball, but with LaMarcus Aldridge on the trading block, there’s plenty of opportunity for the younger role players to step up and I think we’re going to see that sooner rather than later. The line seems a little hefty, but I’m sticking with the Spurs to bounce back at home in this one.
