The Indiana Pacers invade the State Farm Arena to take on the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night.
The Indiana Pacers have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last six games overall, but they will be looking to stay hot in this one after arresting a three-game skid with a 119-108 road win over the Spurs last night. Tyrese Haliburton and Duane Washington Jr. each scored 19 points, Buddy Hield added 17 points with six assists while Isaiah Jack and Chris Duarte each scored 15 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running with 71 points in the first half, before they held the Spurs to just 18 points in the third quarter to lead by as many as 19 points.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have been in decent shape as they’ve won six of their last 10 games overall and they will be eager to build some momentum after sneaking past the Clippers in a 112-106 home win on Friday. Trae Young led the team with 27 points and 11 assists, Kevin Huerter added 16 points while Clint Capela chipped in with 14 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Hawks shot 47 percent from the field and nine of 31 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble after giving up an early 11-point lead, but they regrouped and used a pivotal 11-4 run midway through the fourth quarter to escape with the narrow win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games playing on zero days’ rest, 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Hawks are 11-3 ATS In their last 14 home games, 12-5 ATS in their last 17 Sunday games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Atlanta and the over is 6-0 in the last six meetings overall.
The Pacers will again be without a list of players including Malcolm Brogdon who is out due to concussion protocols, while the Hawks have listed John Collins as day to day. The Pacers were able to jump all over the Spurs who were playing their second game of a back to back set, but it’s going to be tough to replicate that effort against the Hawks who are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 home games. I’m sure the Hawks will get the win at home, but there was so much to like about the Pacers’ performance last night and I think they can hang around long enough to get the cover in this spot.
