Golden Eagles look for a spot in the TBT semifinals after beating Team CP3 by nine points in their tournament opener. The Golden Eagles are averaging 76 points and allowing 67 points per game. Darius Johnson-Odom is averaging 21 points and one steal while Jamil Wilson is averaging 14 points and 11 rebounds. Dwight Buycks is the third double-digit scorer and Jarvis Williams is averaging nine points and four rebounds. The Golden Eagles are averaging 35 rebounds and five blocks per game. The Golden Eagles are averaging 16 turnovers per game and 39 bench points.

Team Brotherly Love hasn’t had to play since beating the Stillwater Stars, as their matchup with Eberlein Drive was canceled due to a positive COVID-19 test. Team Brotherly Love are averaging 87 points and allowing 71 points per game. Khalif Wyatt is averaging 27 points and two assists while Ramone Moore is averaging 24 points and two steals. Devonte Newbill is the third double-digit scorer and Marlon Johnson is averaging nine points and two assists. Team Brotherly Love are averaging 37 rebounds and two blocks per game. Team Brotherly Love are averaging 16 turnovers per game and 40 bench points.

I’m not sure how having so much time off between games is going to impact Team Brotherly, as it could break this teams rhythm if they didn’t use the off time wisely. Golden Eagles looked sharp in the defensive end in their opener and displayed terrific offensive depth while getting decent play from their bench. With all that said, I still lean toward Team Brotherly Love getting the job done here, as this was a team I was higher on than most entering the tournament, as they’re tough minded defensively and have some explosive players who can get their own shot and fill it up offensively.

Team Brotherly Love may be the most underrated team left in this tournament and is a squad that I’ll continue to back.
