The Washington Wizards have been in dreadful form as they’ve lost 19 of their last 20 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a 13-game losing streak after falling just short to the Lakers in a 134-131 overtime road loss last night. Jordan Poole led the team with 34 points and seven assists on 13 of 26 shooting off the bench, Marvin Bagley added 23 points on 11 of 14 shooting while Kyle Kuzma and Corey Kispert scored 20 points each. As a team, the Wizards shot 51 percent from the field and 17 of 41 from the 3-point line as they showed plenty of fight to hang with the Lakers all the way until they went scoreless in the final 3:49 of overtime to allow the Lakers to slip away in the end. The Wizards will meet the Jazz, Magic, and Hornets after this one.
Los Angeles Clippers
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have cooled off a bit recently as they’ve lost four of their last six games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling painfully short to the Lakers in a 116-112 loss on Wednesday. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists on 11 of 19 shooting, James Harden added 23 points with nine assists while Terance Mann chipped in with 16 points on seven of nine shooting. As a team, the Clippers shot 50 percent from the field and 10 of 37 from the 3-point line as they dominated most of the game to lead by as many as 21 points, only to go ice-cold in the fourth quarter where they got outscored by 39-16 to suffer one of their worst losses of the season. The Clippers will face the Timberwolves after this game.

The Wizards are still shorthanded with Isaiah Livers and Bilal Coulibaly both out, while the Clippers are keeping eyes on Paul George and Ivica Zubac who are both questionable for this one. The Wizards have been the coldest team in the league, but they were more than competitive in their narrow loss to the Lakers in their last outing, but it’s going to be tough to replicate that effort for the second straight night. The Clippers have been well below their best lately, but they were embarrassed by their rivals in their last outing, so I’m backing the Clippers to come out swinging and get back on track with a much-needed blowout win at home even though they could be missing a couple of players.
