The Portland Trail Blazers invade the Crpyto.com Arena to take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.

Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers have lost five of their first eight games and they will be hoping to put an end to a two-game skid after getting beaten by the Kings in a 121-118 overtime road loss on Wednesday. Jerami Grant led the team with 38 points, nine rebounds and five assists, while DeAndre Ayton, Shaedon Sharpe and Skylar Mays scored 18 points each. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 50 percent from the field and eight of 22 from the 3-point line as they wasted a five-point lead late in the fourth quarter, before they managed just seven points in overtime to allow the Kings off the hook in the end.

Los Angeles Lakers

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers will be eager to build some momentum after putting a halt to a three-game skid with a 122-119 road win over the Suns on Friday. LeBron James led the team with 32 points, 11 rebounds and six assists on 11 of 17 shooting, D’Angelo Russell added 19 points with nine assists while Anthony Davis tallied 18 points with 11 rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Lakers shot 50 percent from the field and 12 of 27 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and quickly fell into a 14-point hole, but they always stayed within striking distance and made their move with a 33-point fourth quarter to pull off the win and improve to 1-5 on the road so far this season.

Peter’s Pick

The Trail Blazers are still missing Malcolm Brogdon and Scoot Henderson with Ish Wainright listed as questionable, while the Lakers are keeping an eye on LeBron James who is questionable due to a left calf contusion. The line is hefty for this one, but the Lakers would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their comeback win over the Suns on Friday and they should be able to make light work of this depleted Trail Blazers lineup.

Joe Hall's Free Pick: Los Angeles -9.5
