Nick Richards led the team with 21 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, Miles Bridges added 18 points with 10 rebounds while Brandon Miller chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Hornets shot 49 percent from the field and seven of 24 from the 3-point line, but they set up this win with their effort on defense as they were always in control after restricting the Trail Blazers to just 34 points in the first half. In particular, the Hornets played great defense to keep the Trail Blazers’ Anfernee Simons to just 10 points on four of 21 shooting from the field which kept the Trail Blazers in check throughout.

Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last six games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after blowing past the shorthanded 76ers in a 119-98 road win on Sunday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 30 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists, Damian Lillard added 24 points with seven rebounds and nine assists while Malik Beasley chipped in with 20 points on seven of nine shooting. As a team, the Bucks shot 54 percent from the field and 18 of 37 from the 3-point line as they caught fire early and dominated the first half by 69-48 which meant they were always safe despite a charge from the 76ers in the third quarter.

The Bucks are still a little short handed with Khris Middleton still out, but they should still have more than enough firepower to get past this new-look Hornets team who have sprung to life with five wins in their past six outings. The Hornets will be eager to build on their season-best run with a statement win here, but it’s going to be tough to hang with the Bucks if they get hot like they did in their last game. I can’t see anything but an easy win for the Bucks at home, but this line has me thinking that the Hornets could hang around long enough to get the cover.
