The Denver Nuggets have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last six games overall, but they will be feeling much better after snapping a two-game skid with a 132-120 win over the Spurs last night. Nikola Jokic led the team with 39 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists, Michael Porter Jr. added 25 points, Reggie Jackson scored 20 points with seven rebounds and six assists while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope chipped in with 16 points and six assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 56 percent from the field and 12 of 28 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 39 points in the first quarter to take the early lead and they just didn’t take their foot off the gas until the lead ballooned to 28 points in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in fine form as they’ve won four of their last five games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the Mavericks in a 107-88 win on Saturday. Paul George led the team with 25 points, nine rebounds and four assists, Terance Mann added 17 points while Norman Powell chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Clippers shot just 43 percent from the field and eight of 29 from the 3-point line, but this win was more about their defense as they held the Mavericks to just 18 points in the first quarter and just 17 points in the third quarter to earn their best win of the season so far.

The Nuggets are going to be shorthanded here with Jamal Murray still out, whiel the Clippers are coming in with the same squad. The Nuggets were rolling through teams at the start of the season, but the injury to Murray has really put a spanner in the works, so this could be a good time for the Clippers to build on Saturday’s big win over the Mavericks with another win here. It’s hard to get too confident about the Clippers who are still a work in progress, but the Nuggets have lost six of their nine road games this season, so I’ll back the Clippers at the short line in this one.
