The Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic meet Saturday in NBA preseason action at HP Field House.

The Orlando Magic look for a bounce back showing after losing their first scrimmage to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Orlando Magic are averaging 106.4 points on 44.2 percent shooting and allowing 107.3 points on 46.3 percent shooting. Nikola Vucevic is averaging 19.5 points and 11 rebounds while Evan Fournier is averaging 18.8 points and 2.6 rebounds. Terrence Ross is the third double-digit scorer and Aaron Gordon is grabbing 7.6 rebounds. The Orlando Magic are shooting 34.1 percent from beyond the arc and 77 percent from the free thitem line. The Orlando Magic are allowing 37 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.5 rebounds per game.

The Los Angeles Lakers also look for an exhibition victory after recently losing to the Dallas Mavericks. The Los Angeles Lakers are averaging 114.3 points on 48.5 percent shooting and allowing 106.9 points on 44.4 percent shooting. Anthony Davis is averaging 26.7 points and 9.4 rebounds while LeBron James is averaging 25.7 points and 10.6 assists. Kyle Kuzma is the third double-digit scorer and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is grabbing 2.1 rebounds. The Los Angeles Lakers are shooting 35.5 percent from beyond the arc and 73 percent from the free thitem line. The Los Angeles Lakers are allowing 34.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46.1 rebounds per game.

The Orlando Magic didn’t look great in their first scrimmage against the Clippers and even when they would close the gap, they couldn’t sustain offensive success to give themselves a real shot of winning the game. The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off a loss they probably had no business losing, and this is a veteran bunch that’s done a nice job all year of bouncing back from a losing effort. LeBron has also mentioned that these may be scrimmages, but it’s important for the Lakers to have a championship level mindset from here on out. I expect the Lakers to finish things this time by playing all four quarters.

I’ll back the Los Angeles Lakers in this contest and lay the chalk once the line comes out.
