The Phoenix Suns pay a visit to the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center on Friday night. Here’s a Suns vs Kings prediction.
Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns have been in a slump lately as they’ve lost seven of their past 10 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting beaten by the Trail Blazers in a 109-104 road loss on Tuesday. Kevin Durant led the team with 40 points and five assists on 16 of 28 shooting, Devin Booker added 26 points with seven assists while Grayson Allen chipped in with 11 points and nine rebounds but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Suns shot 44 percent from the field and five of 23 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in full control after dominating the first quarter by 36-20, but they allowed the Trail Blazers to hang around which cost them in the third quarter where they leaked 38 points to fall behind by 14 points at one stage. Jusuf Nurkic scored just nine points with four turnovers, while Jordan Goodwin scored just two points on one of seven shooting. After this one, the Suns will take on the Dallas Mavericks at home.
Sacramento Kings
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in great shape as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall, but they will be eager to make up for their mistakes after getting humbled by the shorthanded Celtics in a 144-119 loss on Wednesday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 29 points on nine of 16 shooting, but he just didn’t get enough help as Domantas Sabonis and Keegan Murray scored just 13 points each, while Harrison Barnes scored just 10 points. As a team, the Kings shot 47 percent from the field and 21 of 44 from the 3-point line which was enough to hang in the contest, until the third quarter where the Celtics poured in 39 points to pull away and make it a blowout in the end. The Kings will conclude their six-game home stay with a tilt against the Wolves. After that, Sacramento will visit Portland, Atlanta, and Memphis.
Suns vs Kings prediction
The Suns are still shorthanded with Damion Lee, Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic all out, while the Kings have ruled out Malik Monk and are keeping an eye on JaVale McGee, who is questionable here. The Suns are playing well below their best at the moment as they continue to deal with constant injuries, but they won’t be getting any sympathy from the Kings, who were rolling before they got routed by the Celtics on Wednesday. The Suns will be well-rested here, but it’s hard to back them while they’re struggling so much, so I’d rather go with the Kings who have won four of their last five home games.
